COVER REVEAL: Prejudice Meets Pride by @RachaelReneeAnd

Prejudice Meets Pride

Prejudice Meets Pride by Rachael Anderson

After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie’s hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome new neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.

Fun, compelling, and romantic, Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn't afraid to show him that he doesn't. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.

Displaying Choosing You Blog Tour.jpg

Choosing You Synopsis:
When Jade is given a scholarship to an elite private college in Connecticut, she sees it as a chance to finally escape her painful past and get a fresh start. She’s determined to succeed and that means keeping her focus on school and not guys. But her plan falls apart her first day on campus when Garret, a rich prep school boy with swimmer abs and a perfect smile, offers to help her move in.
Jade tries to push him away, but she can’t deny her attraction to him and Garret won’t let her. Things quickly heat up between them, but then come to a sudden halt when reality hits and Jade realizes that a relationship with Garret may never be possible. He comes from a world of wealth where there are rules, including rules about who he can date. And not following those rules has consequences.

As the two of them try to overcome the obstacles working to keep them apart, Jade is confronted with another challenge. On her 19th birthday, she receives a letter that her now deceased mother wrote years ago. In it are revelations that explain her traumatic childhood but also make her question the past she’s been running from.

Synopsis of The Jade Series:

The Jade Series is a New Adult Romance that follows the relationship of Jade and Garret in their first year of college. In Choosing You, book 1, Jade and Garret meet on Jade’s first night at Moorhurst College and despite their strong attraction to each other, they’re not allowed to date because of the strict rules that control Garret’s life. In Knowing You, (book 2), Garret breaks the family rules and begins dating Jade. Their relationship grows deeper but issues from Jade’s past complicate matters. Loving You (book 3) shows Jade and Garret growing closer as a couple but also hints at the trouble that lies ahead in Promising You (book 4), in which a new challenge emerges for Garret that could interfere with the future he wants with Jade.

The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels

I do not know where you live, but if you are anywhere near the South you know that we have been having some crazy weather. Seriously? Snow. We don’t handle that well at all. Part of my southern nature is to cook when there is a crisis, which means my DVR is loaded down with a plethora of cooking shows.  All this snow has been making me yearn for casseroles and hearty meals that could feed us for days if we ever got snowed in. Seems a little paranoid, but I believe in being prepared for the worst. And to a Southerner, there is nothing worse than snow.
Someone in the family loves the snow though!

One cooking show has really gobbled up my time and that is Ree Drummond’s The Pioneer Woman. I find her recipes simple and down-home. I love that the ingredients are usually on hand and aren’t all that fancy. The more I watch her show, the more I have become interested in her life (not stalker like though). They live on a sprawling ranch far away from civilization. She is constantly explaining all their chores and the hardwork that her, her husband Ladd, and their 4 kids do on a daily basis. Makes me happy I live where I live.

A good friend recommend her biography, The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. Her selling point? “It reads like a romance!” Instead of focusing on how she became a successful blogger, tv host, and cookbook author, Drummond tells the story of how she met and fell madly and deeply in love with her husband Ladd, who she pens as Marlboro Man.

Though she might come off a little prepared on her TV show, Drummond does a wonderful job expressing humor, heartbreak, and most important love in her book. From the first few pages I knew I was in for a real treat. I was surprised to find out that it really did read like a romance novel. There was laughter, sorrow, and a fire. Overall, this book was about finding a love so deep that it will make your world turn completely upside down. This book had me laughing out loud (many many times) and it just made my heart happy. After reading about the intensity of the love she and her Marlboro Man shared, it only made me appreciate the love I have.

Sappy moment over. If you are a fan of cooking (the recipes from her love story are included) and romance, then check out The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels

Love Monster by Rachel Bright

Mark Darcy said it best when he told Bridget Jones, "I like you very much, just as you are".

Because isn't that what we all really want? (no, not Colin Firth...well, yes him too) We all want someone to love us just the way we are.

This was definitely the case for Monster in Rachel Bright's Love Monster. Monster lives in Cutesville, where everyone was cute, cuddly, and fluffy. Everyone, that is, except for Monster. Monster was far from cute, cuddly, and fluffy. He was more on the hairy, googly eyed, monster side. Not many people love monsters who are hairy, googly eyed, and slightly scary. But that doesn't mean Monster doesn't want someone to love him...googly eyes and all. He sets out on a mission to find someone to love him.  Monster soon discovers that finding that special someone might  be a little harder than he expected.

Why I love Love Monster: Bright teaches readers, through a low self-esteem monster, that we all deserve to be loved for who we are...not what we want to be or what everyone else loves.  Another important lesson, which Monster learns is not to give up on love. When you least expect it, love will find you.

Most romantic book...

Valentine’s Mini Book Blogger Challenge
Day 5 – most romantic books you’ve ever read

I have read tons and tons of romance. You know this. Out of all of them, the truly most romantic book I think I have ever read is Annie’s Song by Catherine Anderson. Anderson creates a masterful love story that rises out of tragedy. It is sweet, pure, and heartbreaking. This is a true romance story. Anderson takes her time with the characters and how they get to know each other and then fall deeply in love.

Annie Trimble lives in a solitary world that no one enters or understands. As delicate and
beautiful as the tender blossoms of the Oregon spring, she is shunned by a town
that misinterprets her affliction. But cruelty cannot destroy the love Annie holds in her heart.
Alex Montgomery is horrified to learn his wild younger brother forced himself on a helpless "idiot girl." Tormented by guilt, Alex agrees to marry her and raise the babe she carries as his own. But he never dreams he will grow to cherish his lovely, mute, misjudged Annie...her childlike innocence, her womanly charms and the wondrous way she views her world. And he becomes determined to break through the wall of silence surrounding her; to heal...and to healed by Annie's sweet song of love.

Love Triangles....

Valentine’s Mini Book Blogger Challenge

Day 4 – Love-triangles. The Ones that worked for you, The ones that didn’t.

I’m going to have to admit that most of the romances I read do not really involve triangles. It is a straight shot to the couple. Every once in a while I will run across one that has some competition from a secondary character. This character is never really a threat though. So I’m going to briefly discuss two big love
triangles from YA.

The Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer
Who did I want Bella to pick? Team Jacob
I wasn’t too involved with this triangle, mainly because I loathe the character of Bella. Everything from her indecisiveness her weakness aggravates me.

Moving on…

The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins
Who did I want Kat to be with? Peeta
I thought he grounded her and I was very happy with how Collins wrapped up the trilogy.

What have been some of your favorite triangles?

COVER REVEAL: @CoraCarmack 's All Lined Up!

I'm really loving this cover reveals! I hope you are too! I'm very excited about anything Cora Carmack publishes and I can't wait for All Lined Up....

We're extremely excited to bring you the cover for ALL LINED UP, the  first book in Cora Carmack's highly anticipated Rusk University Series! ALL LINED UP is a New Adult Contemporary Romance novel published by William Morrow (an imprint of HarperCollins</ a>). It is due to be released on May 13, 2014!!

ABOUT ALL LINED UP:

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has

always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole

childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the

playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football

star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the

jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of

her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the

starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful

redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new

coach's daughter.

And neither of them knows how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

“Laughter + heartache + hot sexual tension = the perfect Cora Carmack book.”</ b>

Cheesiest Scenes

Valentine’s Mini Book Blogger Challenge

Day 3 – The CHEESIEST ROMANCE scenes or topics you have read in a book.

Okay, this one is a little bit more difficult for me. I instantly thought of two books...but I couldn’t remember the titles!

For the first one, it is about a man who is drowning or has washed up on the shoreline. A young woman spots him and rescues him, but only to realize that he has amnesia. Oh, and that she recognizes him as her brothers worst enemy. They bond...yada yada yada and he gets his memory back, but he doesn’t
realize who she is related to. The woman ends up getting the flu. She knows she needs to go to the
doctor, but she is too weak. She is able to dial the hero’s number, but can’t speak. So she types out S.O.S. This was the cheesiest thing I had ever read and I busted out laughing. For the life of my I
couldn’t find the name of the book. I read it recently (in the last year) but nothing came up when I scoured through my Goodreads. If you know the name of the book, please let me know. I want to say it was either written by Maya Banks, Linda Howard, or Diana Palmer.

The 2nd book is written by Diana Palmer. Again, Goodreads did not help me find the name, but Diana Palmer books are all pretty much the same. The heroine has been kidnapped and the hero has called in all of his cowboy/texas ranger friends to help find her. They are at his house strategizing and decided to make breakfast. Next thing all the
cowboys are assigned cooking tasks..either frying the bacon, making French toast, or fixin’ the coffee. It was ridiculous!

I know I probably should have named the cheesiest love scenes, but this is what I think of when I think of cheesy scenes.

Neversink by Barry Wolverton Blog Tour & Giveaway

Book Nerd Tours

Displaying g.JPGBarry Wolverton's masterful middle-grade debut, Neversink, is an epic tale of some very un-epic birds, a fast-paced and funny story of survival, friendship, and fish, in the vein of Watership Down and Kathi Appelt's The Underneath.

Along the Arctic Circle lies a small island called Neversink, home to a colony of odd-looking seabirds called auks, including one Lockley J. Puffin. With their oceanfront views and plentiful supply of fish, the auks have few concerns—few, save for Lockley's two best friends, Egbert and Ruby, a know-it-all walrus and a sharp-tongued hummingbird.

But all of this is about to change. Rozbell, the newly crowned king of the Owl Parliament, has long had his scheming eyes on the small colony to the north. Now Neversink's independence hangs in the balance. An insurgence of owls will inevitably destroy life as the auks know it—unless Lockley can do something about it.

Wolverton's first novel is filled with adventure that will have you intrigued from the start. If you are a fan of the Guardians of Ga'hoole series than this book is right up your alley. A great mesh of characters bring this story to life!

Have you ever thought of taking a vacation alone? I mean step on a plane, check into your hotel, and lie on the beach completely and utterly alone. No? Me either, but then right before senior spring break I got dumped.
Something about break ups makes you do things you didn’t want to do, and try things you didn’t know you were capable of.

That’s how I ended up at the Palm Palace.
That’s how I met Grey.
That’s how my spring break turned into the most unforgettable week of my life.

T.A. Foster is a Southern girl whose heart and spirit are connected to the beach. She grew up catching rays and chasing waves along the North Carolina Outer Banks and now resides in the state with her adventurous pilot husband, two children and two canine kiddos.

Her long love affair with books started at an early age, and as soon as she was able, she transformed imaginative stories into words on paper. Time Spell is T.A.’s debut novel, and the first in a series about a very adventurous, clever, and magical girl named Ivy.

T.A. has an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate degree in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. When she’s not chasing her two-legged and four-legged children or trying to escape for date night, you can find her reading, writing or planning her next beach trip.
