Oh, patrons.

A patron came in one morning right after we opened to return some DVDs. As I started checking them in I noticed that they were all a day late...

Me: Sir, these were due yesterday so there will be an overdue charge for them.

Patron: They aren't late. I was in the parking lot at 9:00am.

Me: We don't open until 10:00am though.

Patron: I know that, but since I was here before you opened, they aren't late.

Best way to mend a book...

My coworker found a book that she thought needed a little mending. When she flipped the page she discovered that a helpful patron had already done some mending for us...

                         

Not too bad if you ask me! 

Wake Up Call

I teach a few computer classes at my library a month.  As a courtesy, I call the patrons that have signed up the day before as a reminder. This patron decided she needed some extra reminders....

Me: I'm calling to remind you that you signed up for a computer class at the library tomorrow morning at 10am

Patron (female, late 60's/early 70s): Oh, great. Can you call me in the morning and wake me up?

Me: Uhhh....

Patron: My alarm clock is broken, so if you will just call me about 9:00am or so, I'll be there.
